Plant Therapy Essential Oils

I have enjoyed using plant therapy’s essential oils for several years now. Especially splurging on their products during fall and winter as they have an amazing seasonal collection that they release each year!

Not to mention the fact that they do not participate in any animal testing and are certified organic.

They are also one of the only brands that I have seen to offer horse and dog safe oils specifically made for safe use on animals!

They also have a line of kid safe oils so that you can confidently use oils on your children without risking their health and safety.

Another amazing detail about plant therapy essential oils is that they have a blog that you can follow for the latest news on oils!

This is definitely a brand that I would consider to be a competitive choice!

Pros:

  • Provides kid safe oils
  • Provides horse and dog safe oils
  • Has seasonal blends
  • Is organic and cruelty free
  • Is a source of essential oil information
  • Slightly cheaper than Eden’s Garden
  • There is a money back guarantee

Cons:

  • I can’t think of any!

What I Recommend

As I mentioned earlier I almost always buy their seasonal options as they are delicious smelling and oh so festive. Like this amazing candy cane essential oil that I try to never run out of!

Like any good essential oil these oils go a long way and I was able to make their candy cane blend last me two years!

A few other oils that I have loved from them is their allspice essential oil, cinnamon essential oil and balsam Fir essential oil.

All were great quality and very strong so I know they will last me a long time!

Eden’s Garden Essential Oils

Eden’s garden essential oils are a brand that I have spoken of before in another article on Where to Buy Essential Oils on a Budget.

But I wanted to compare these two brands side by side as I have found their prices to be the most similar as well as their quality.

Like plant therapy essential oils Eden’s garden is cruelty free and they note on their site that the ingredients are also ethically and sustainably sourced.

I don’t see any claims that they are organic on their site, but they do state that the oils are 100% pure.

I especially love that this company is a family owned company as it allows you to support a family’s dream as well as buy good products.

Eden’s garden essential oils also carry a kid safe line of oils and many sets and blends of oils.

Pros:

  • Cruelty free
  • Family owned
  • Carries kid safe oils
  • Is 100% pure
  • Ethically and sustainably sourced
  • Has a 30-day return policy

Cons:

  • Slightly more expensive
  • Fewer options

What I Recommend

I discovered Eden’s garden oils sooner then I did plant therapy oils, so I have purchased more from them.

Not once have I been disappointed with an order from Eden’s garden essential oils!

I especially love and recommend their lemongrass essential oil and lavender essential oils but any of their oils are an amazing option.

Their quality is impeccable and always reliable and goes a long way!

Why it is Important to Buy the Best Essential Oils

When I was first getting into the world of essential oils I was very unaware of the importance of quality.

I thought that if an oil was labeled as an essential oil then that’s what it really was. But unfortunately, not every ‘essential oil’ that you see is really what it says it is.

I received many an odd and untrustworthy package of bottles that contained some kind of oil, but it most certainly wasn’t an essential oil.

I suspect that there are many low-quality brands out there packaging fragrance oils as essential oils. Which is not at all what we want!

Some key things to look out for when buying essential oils to know good quality ones are:

  • Most essential oils are clear, but a few will have a slight color
  • High quality brands often give the Latin name from the plant that they are derived from
  • They should smell like the plant that they are derived from
  • Very cheap oils usually mean lower quality
  • They should always be in a glass amber bottle
  • It should state that it is 100% pure

How to spot a fake or low-quality essential oil:

  • If fragrance is mentioned
  • Inadequate details about the oil
  • Badly packaged
  • If the Latin name is not given
  • If oils that are usually expensive are very cheap

Conclusion

I hope that this article on the best essential oils brands has been helpful to you when deciding between Eden’s garden vs plant therapy oils.

The bottom line is that both of these companies are excellent options and I would easily recommend either one.

They both straddle the line of being on the pricier side while still being affordable and they are definitely what I would consider to be a treat!

Let me know in the comments if you have tried either one of these brands and what your experience was like!
