This remedy is what I would consider to be the most effective herb for gastritis out of this list. Slippery elm is the inner bark of the elm tree and is most traditionally used in powder form.

It is a demulcent which means that it creates a mucus like substance that restores our bodies natural mucus coating. Such as for raw or irritated skin that has lost most of that coating or that doesn’t have enough to sooth inflammation.

It helps the GI tract to create enough mucus to help it to work optimally as well as to heal gastritis inflammation faster. It can also create a better protective coating against your stomach lining and everything else. Helping to reduce further irritation and inflammation.

Slippery elm can also help to treat constipation and diarrhea which might be symptoms in correlation with gastritis.

Linden is also best taken as a tea. You could also take other useful herbs in tea form to help sooth your gastritis. Teas such as chamomile and peppermint.

For those suffering from gastritis I wouldn’t recommend taking tinctures as most of them contain alcohol. But you could opt out for glycerin extracted tinctures instead.

Relax

First and foremost, you need to try to relax. Allow yourself more time to rest, sleep in and reduce your amount of movement.

Stress can often be the main cause or just an aggravating factor of gastritis so it’s important to try to ease up on the stress. Taking time to look after yourself and maybe even learn a few things about reducing the stressors in your life.
