Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse
Apple cider vinegar is a tried and true home remedy for reducing dandruff. In fact, apple cider vinegar hair rinses are good for the overall health of your hair and scalp.
Apple cider vinegar helps to balance out the pH level of your scalp. As well as to ward off bad bacteria. It helps to cut through any buildup of dandruff, hair care products and oils to cleanse your scalp and hair.
It helps to stimulate hair growth and leave your hair looking cleaner and shinier!
Apple cider has proven itself to be a very beneficial remedy for cutting through any buildup of dry skin cells that create that pesky dandruff. Helping to reduce dandruff and moisturize your scalp.
Though it’s important to keep in mind that apple cider vinegar can become overly harsh. And start to have the opposite effect if used too much. Stick to one rinse a week or every two weeks and you should start to see a difference!
This apple cider vinegar is one of the best selling vinegar brands out there! It is a great option when it comes to making your hair rinse.
This might seem like a strange tip. But I have for personal experience discovered scalp massages to be a wonderful treatment for dandruff!
This is something that can be done at home for just a few minutes every night or morning.
Find a place to sit down and hang your head down as low as you can bare. Doing this encourages blood flow to your head. Now massage all over your scalp with the tips of your fingers in a circular motion.
Do this for one to two minutes or until you have massaged your entire scalp. Then very lightly run your finger nails all over your scalp. Remember it’s very important to do both steps gently and else you will just end up damaging your hair follicles. This doesn’t require very much pressure!
Do this every day and you should begin to see a very noticeable improvement in your dandruff. The reason why this works is because you are stimulating good oil production. Which helps to keep your scalp from becoming too dry.
By doing scalp massage you are also breaking up that dry skin and helping it to disperse instead of remaining in your hair.
You could also purchase a hand help massager like this scalp massager!
Use Essential Oils
You might feel a bit intimidated by the idea of putting essential oils on your scalp but don’t worry. Essential oils are harmless when used with the utmost care and with proper understanding of how to use them.
Essential oils such as tea tree essential oil, peppermint essential oil, lemongrass essential oil, lavender essential oil and rosemary essential oil all help to reduce dandruff. They are also good for the overall health of your scalp and hair.
To use them try making a simple homemade shampoo with castile liquid soap and a few drops of your preferred essential oil. Or you could do an oil treatment on your scalp with the addition of a few drops of essential oil.
I don’t recommend adding essential oils to store bought shampoos as you never know how they will react to the ingredients in the shampoo. But you can probably find natural brands that would be safer to add essential oils too. Or maybe same brands that already have the essential oils in them.
Just keep in mind that essential oils are very strong, and you only need a few drops and you should add less instead of more to be on the safe side.
